I got my class and spent about 1 hour reading and learning. I have always had trouble picking out fabrics for my quilts and usually ended buying a lot of kits in the colors I liked.
The color topic in this lesson has helped a great deal.
I have also signed up at the forum and introduced myself there. This whole process has been very easy.
My printer is on the blink and I tried to copy this to my jump drive where I could open it any time I wanted to with out tying up space on my laptop and it would not let me do that.
I will email Barbara and see if there is a problem with them or just my computer.
LET THE FUN BEGIN

I too enjoyed the discussion on color theory, not new stuff, but presented in a very easy to understand way. And I appreciate that we were "spoon feed" the information, starting at the very basics..then building more step by step.
ReplyDeleteNow, it's off to decide what size block..or blocks to do!
quiltssewpieceful, I did not have any trouble printing out the lesson. If you have a Kinkos or Staples close by you can upload the PDF, they print the file and you pick it up.
ReplyDeleteI just checked, the estimated cost for Kinkos to print lesson 1: 2 sided, 3-hole punched, in color is $28.79. A little pricey, but it is color laser, not inkjet, you aren't using your inkjet printer ink (mine cost $70.00 for a set of ink cartridges).

If you would like me to upload and place the order I'd be happy to. Email me, I'll give you the details. JodyC62963@aol.com
I printed out my lesson and picked my center piece of fabric. Then decided I better do some work on my mini quilt swap, quilt first. I just finished piecing 4inch blocks with 9 pieces each!!!
ReplyDeleteHopefully tonight I will get a chance to pick out more colors and maybe get one block sewn together.
I read through lesson one last night, lots of good information. Probably won't get to touching any fabric until this weekend. I am very interested in looking at the online color selectors.
ReplyDeletejodyc..
ReplyDeleteI had no problem printing it. I tried to save it to a flash drive so I could keep it and refer back to it sometime down the line when I need a refresher in color. Color is my greatest challenge in my quilting.
It would not let me copy the lesson over to a flashdrive.
Thank you though for the link but I would probably have to drive 100 miles to Memphis to find a kinkos. The only thing I might find around here is an Office Max or Staples.
I live in a small town, sort of slow moving and backwards. Population 25,000 at night and 150,000 in the day time with all the industries we have.
